Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflections
Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection is the third installment in the turn-based RPG spin-off series of the Monster Hunter franchise developed and published by Capcom. Continuing the Rider tradition introduced in Monster Hunter Stories and expanded in Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, the game focuses on the deep bond between humans and monsters, known as Monsties, rather than traditional hunting.
Gameplay
Gameplay in Monster Hunter Stories 3 revolves around exploration, monster companionship, and strategic turn-based battles. Riders travel across vast environments in search of monster dens, where rare eggs can be discovered and hatched into Monsties that accompany the player throughout their adventure.
Battles use the series’ signature Power, Speed, and Technical attack system, where predicting an opponent’s move allows Riders and their Monsties to counter attacks and gain the advantage. Successfully anticipating enemy actions can trigger powerful Head-to-Head clashes, devastating Double Attacks, and cooperative special abilities between Rider and Monstie.
Outside of battle, Monsties provide unique Riding Actions that allow players to explore previously unreachable areas. Abilities such as flying, climbing cliffs, breaking obstacles, or swimming across rivers open new paths throughout the world and reveal hidden treasures and monster dens.
Customization remains a key feature of the series. Through advanced gene systems, Riders can transfer abilities between Monsties to create unique builds, enhancing elemental strengths, unlocking new skills, and tailoring companions to specific strategies.
By combining exploration, monster collection, and tactical combat, Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection offers a distinct take on the Monster Hunter universe, focusing on the bond between Rider and Monstie while uncovering the mysteries behind the spreading crystal phenomenon.
